Damaged 161kV Aboadze–Tarkwa transmission line under repair-Energy Ministry

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition wishes to notify the public that the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), has reported damage to its 161kV Aboadze–Tarkwa transmission line in the Western Region.
A rapid-response maintenance team has been dispatched to the site and is actively carrying out repair works to restore the line to full operation as soon as possible.
Due to the nature of the damage, there may be temporary disruptions to power supply in parts of the Western and Ashanti Regions, particularly in areas such as Tarkwa and Kumasi.
The Ministry assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to resolve the issue swiftly and minimise inconvenience.
We deeply regret any disruption caused and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring a stable and reliable power supply for all Ghanaians.
