‎The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) is taking its investment drive to five regions in northern Ghana to attract investors and unlock economic opportunities ahead of the 2026 Invest Ghana Summit.‎

‎The 13-day roadshow, running from October 11 to 23, will cover the Northern, North East, Upper East, Upper West and Savanna Regions.‎

‎It forms part of efforts to connect investors with investment-ready projects identified under GIPA’s Investment Opportunities Mapping Project, launched in July 2025.‎

‎According to GIPA, more than 1,600 investment project profiles have been received nationwide with 128 originating from the five northern regions.‎

‎The Upper West Region recorded the highest number of project profiles with 45 followed by the Northern Region with 38, Savanna with 19, Upper East with 16 and North East with 10.‎

‎The identified opportunities span agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, mining, renewable energy, logistics and trade.‎

‎GIPA says the roadshow will also build on existing investor interest in the northern belt which attracted 100 registered investment projects with an estimated foreign direct investment value of US$1.91 billion between 1994 and June 2025.‎

‎The Northern Region accounted for 48 of the registered projects followed by the Upper East Region with 14, North East with seven, Upper West with six and Savanna with five.‎

‎The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GIPA, Abdul Razak Baba, will lead the delegation in engaging regional ministers, business leaders and traditional authorities across the five regions.‎

‎The team will also visit selected investment sites and businesses including Diamond Cement at Buipe and Saba Tea Company Limited in Wa to assess existing investments and explore opportunities for expansion and collaboration.‎

‎GIPA Chief Executive Officer, Simon Madjie says the region has significant potential to support industrialisation and improve livelihoods through strategic investments.‎

‎“Northern Ghana is no longer a frontier of potential. It is a destination of opportunity. Through this roadshow, we are taking investment opportunities directly to the market, building strategic partnerships and creating pathways for investors to take part in the regions transformation,” he said.‎

‎He added that linking project identification to direct investor engagement would help accelerate investment into underserved areas and promote more balanced economic growth across the country.‎

‎The roadshow is expected to showcase investment opportunities from the five regions ahead of the Invest Ghana Summit scheduled for November 16 and 17, 2026, in Accra.‎

‎The initiative is being organised in partnership with MTN Ghana with support from government agencies and the Regional Coordinating Councils of the five regions.
