A tax education programme has been organised by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for members of the Muslim Business Community to deepen their understanding of taxation and its role in national development.

The event was chaired by Nana Yiadom Boakye Kanto, who represented the Chief Imam.

As part of the programme, a presentation was delivered by Mawuli Hafiz Ibrahim Sandow, who explained that the payment of taxes aligns with Islamic teachings and civic responsibility, and contributes to national growth.

A key presentation was also delivered by Victor Akogo, who educated participants on various forms of taxation and stressed the importance of voluntary tax compliance.

Another session was led by Abdul-Jalil Abdul-Rahman, who provided insights into customs procedures, import duties, and the importance of proper documentation in business operations.

Participants were encouraged to comply with tax regulations and support government revenue mobilisation efforts aimed at funding development projects across the country.

Organisers noted that the programme forms part of broader efforts to improve tax education and strengthen cooperation between tax authorities and business communities.
