The donation comprises GHS30,000 in cash and agricultural products valued at GHS270,000.
The items include pesticides, insecticides, fertilisers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to help farmers enhance productivity and ensure safe farming practices.
Rainbow Agro Science is a member of the CropLife Ghana Association, a group committed to promoting responsible and sustainable use of crop protection solutions across the country.
Speaking at the brief ceremony to present the items, the Country Manager of Rainbow Agro Science, Mr. David Oware Ansong, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the government and Ghanaian farmers to improve agricultural development.
He was joined by Mr. Harrison Ahorgba, Head of Sales and Marketing; Mr. George S. Ocloo, Technical Manager; Ms. Consolata A. Agyekum, HR & Administration Manager; and Mr. Kadiri Rashad, Executive Director of CropLife Ghana.
The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Opoku, who received the donation on behalf of the government, expressed his appreciation to Rainbow Agro Science for the timely support.
He noted that corporate contributions remain vital in celebrating and motivating hardworking farmers who continue to play a crucial role in national food security and economic growth.
He also appealed to other private sector actors and corporate organisations to emulate the gesture and partner with the government to honour Ghana’s dedicated farmers and fishers.
This year’s Farmers’ Day celebration will recognise distinguished farmers and fishers across the country for their outstanding performance and contributions to Ghana’s agricultural sector.
