Shatta Wale has made an appeal to the public and the media to avoid speculation following the stampede that led to the cancellation of ShattaFest UK 2026.

In a statement issued by his management, the dancehall artiste urged patience as the relevant authorities investigate the incident.

"We respectfully ask the public and members of the media to avoid speculation while the appropriate authorities conduct their investigations," the statement said.

"We trust that the truth will be established through the proper processes, and we encourage everyone to rely on verified information."

The statement said management was deeply saddened by reports of injuries and the alleged loss of lives, adding that official confirmation from the relevant authorities was still being awaited.

"Our thoughts and prayers remain with the individuals involved, their families, their friends, and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking incident," it said.

Shatta Wale's management also thanked emergency services, security personnel, medical teams, venue staff and others who responded to assist those affected.

It added that the artiste and the Shatta Movement Empire would fully cooperate with the relevant authorities and event partners to establish exactly what happened.

The statement comes after police shut down ShattaFest UK during the annual Ghana Party in the Park festival following a stampede at the entrance that left several people injured. A video seen by Classfmonline.com showed the crush at the entrance, with helpers assisting patrons to safety before the event was cancelled on public safety grounds.
