Bernice Offei: 'Life is Short' hitmaker dies at 63
Veteran Gospel singer-songwriter Bernice Offei has died. Class News understands she died on the morning of Saturday, September 12, 2026. The cause of her death has not yet been confirmed. She was 63.
Her death comes just 10 days after she was reported missing in Accra on September 2. She was later found, with reports indicating that she was safe at the time.
Bernice Offei was a respected figure in Ghana's Gospel music industry, loved for her deep observations about life in her songs as she offered hope through scripture. She had hits such as Hold On and Life Is So Short.
Pastor and Gospel singer-songwriter Nii Okai eulogised her on Facebook.
"Life is real short… Rest well, Sis Bernice Offei!" he wrote.
