Afro-Dancehall creator Stonebwoy has opened up about what runs through his mind in the moments before a show, emphasising that the real work happens long before he ever steps on stage.

He spoke to Joy Prime as he prepares for his Bhim Concert, part of his annual Bhim Festival, at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, UK.

Stonebwoy stressed how central rehearsal is for a serious musician, describing it as the process that gets an artist ready to offer their best to an audience. An effective rehearsal, he explained, makes the actual performance feel like an encore — and when the preparation is done right, all that's left for the day itself is the hope for life and good health to deliver.

"It's not the 30 minutes before the show. It is the days [and] days before the show. So as for the 30 minutes before the show, every true musician knows that the show's already played. We're just coming to present it on the day. So maybe that day, you pray for God to give you life and strength so that you can deliver what you have rehearsed to give the people," he said.

He made the comments in a rehearsal studio.

He was sitting with Gospel singer and trumpeter MOGMusic, who will also host a show at the 12,500-capacity venue on Saturday, August 22.
