DopeNation didn't file, snubbed TGMAs team leading to omission: Charterhouse

Robert Klah, the Head of Communications and Public Events at Charterhouse Productions, has explained why Hiplife powerhouse DopeNation despite their big hits could not get nominations for the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
He spoke on Hitz FM, noting DopeNation made no submissions for the awards show’s consideration. He added, the twins did not indicate their agreement to nominations, also, when the organisers reached out to them.
"One would expect that on a platform like this, in the year under review, their place will certainly be established. Unfortunately, when there was no filing, and we tried to reach out for consent, we couldn't get it," Robert Klah said.
Earlier when radio personality DJ Slim asked DopeNation on X about the above, which at the time was framed as a rumour, the group responded by insinuating it was suffering sabotage.
“We have been battling a lot that can’t be said out of respect for some people in this hypocritical music space. However, can we all recall from 2021? Maybe some of us will know this is not just about awards, Sir. Gradually this industry will be losing its ‘TRUE ARTISTS’,” the serial hitmakers said.
DopeNation released three hits in 2024. The biggest one, which was unescapable on social media, radio, TV, and in entertainment centres was Zormizor (Asabone) of June 2024. Gbohe came in August 2024, before Shey of October 2024.
With these songs, the duo could have been nominated for the comeback of the Group of the Year category – they won it in 2020 but felt robbed in 2021 when Keche took the accolade; and Most Popular Song of the Year.
