Edemfest 2026 Postponed; Organizers ‘eye’ bigger opportunity for Volta culture
The 2026 edition of Edemfest, which was scheduled for November 7, has been postponed, organizers have announced.
In an official statement issued on Monday, November 3, the Volta Regime Music Group [VRMG], organizers of the festival, said a new date will be announced once confirmed.
According to VRMG, the decision follows a strategic opportunity that has emerged for the group which requires a change in the festival's original schedule.
"The decision follows a strategic opportunity that has emerged for VRMG. Given its timing and potential long term value to Edemfest, the organizers have decided to pursue it, necessitating a change to the festival's original schedule," the statement said.
The organizers added that the move reflects a broader ambition to grow Edemfest beyond its identity as a music and cultural festival into a platform that creates greater opportunities for Volta's music, culture, heritage and tourism while showcasing the region as a destination for cultural experiences.
VRMG frontman, musician Ayigbe Edem, apologized for the inconvenience while expressing optimism about the future of the festival.
"Edemfest has grown because of the people, the culture and the support behind it. We see an opportunity to take the festival further and create even greater value for the region, and we believe it is worth pursuing. We apologize for the schedule change and appreciate everyone's understanding and continued support," Edem said.
Meanwhile, VRMG confirmed that the Jubilee Radio Health Walk will proceed as scheduled but Edem will not be in attendance.
The organizers thanked the health walk partners, sponsors, artistes, creatives and all stakeholders who contributed to the preparations for the 2026 edition, adding that a new date and further details will be communicated through its official channels.
Edemfest is one of Ghana's biggest regional music and cultural festivals, celebrating Volta music, heritage and tourism.
