Ghana is taking a bold step to demonstrate African unity with the creation of the Pan-African House, a one-month cultural residency bringing together young Africans from across the continent and the diaspora.

Speaking in an interview with Class Media Group, an internationally acclaimed Casting Director based in Ghana, Mawuko Kuadzi said the initiative is part of this year's Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) and is designed to show that Africans can live and thrive together.

 "We are establishing the Pan-African House in Ghana and that is to show how Africans can live together. The African unity that our forefathers have fought for since time immemorial, it's also our turn to make sure we actualize it," Kuadzi stated.

According to him, the House will host 12 countries for 30 days with activities centered on cultural exchange, intra-African tourism, and intra-African trade.

"This year's AMC is definitely going to be different and Ghana is going to use this opportunity to let the world know how hospitable we are," he said. 

"When we talk about the Black Star of Africa and the gateway to Africa, indeed that country is Ghana."

Kuadzi explained that the participants are cultural ambassadors sponsored by their governments and will be representing their respective nations throughout their stay in Ghana.

A unique feature of the House is that each room represents a country.

"For us they are no longer individuals. When you come to the Pan-African House, every room for these finalists is a country," he said.

Countries confirmed for this year's edition include Republic of Congo, Botswana, South Africa, Nigeria, Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire and the United States representing the diaspora plus other participating nations in the Africa Monologue Challenge Pan-African House.

Ghanaian actor William Lamptey, popularly known as Willie Chembez, has promised to give his all as he represents Ghana at this year's Africa Monologue Challenge Season 3.

According to the Ghana's representative for the prestigious Pan-African acting competition, the celebrated actor, Willie Chembez expressed confidence and deep passion for the opportunity.

"Team Ghana, you should expect something great. I have been doing this for a long time and I know the people of Ghana know me and they know what I'm capable of doing," he stated.

For Lamptey, the competition is more than just acting; it is a call to national duty.

 "This competition is something that is on my heart. I really want to do this for my country because this is a great opportunity to be, not only as an actor, but a cultural ambassador for my country, Ghana."

“I love to do this because I love the fact that my craft is letting me represent my country. And for that matter, I'm not taking it lightly at all. I am going to put in my absolute best to make sure that we win this."

William Lamptey is one of 12 cultural ambassadors housed in the Pan-African House in Ghana for one month as part of the Africa Monologue Challenge which promotes cultural exchange, intra-African tourism and trade.

The Pan-African House will run for the next 30 days in Ghana.
