Ghana’s Ambassador to China invites designers to showcase fashion for 69th Independence Day
Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu, has invited five Ghanaian fashion designers to showcase the country’s rich cultural creativity as part of activities marking 69 years of nationhood.
The announcement was made by Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD, who serves as Director of the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President.
In a post shared on his Facebook page, KOD revealed that the initiative forms part of efforts to promote Ghanaian fashion and culture on the global stage during celebrations of the country’s independence anniversary.
The selected designers will have the opportunity to showcase Ghana’s vibrant fashion industry while strengthening cultural and creative ties between Ghana and China.
The move is expected to highlight the role of Ghana’s creative arts sector in projecting the nation’s identity abroad while also creating international exposure for local designers.
Ghana marks 69 years of independence on March 6, commemorating its historic break from colonial rule in 1957 and celebrating the country’s progress, heritage and global partnerships.
