A/R: Police investigate 'unnatural' death of Senegalese in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Criminal Investigations Department, Kumasi, has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 20-year-old Senegalese, Cheith Toure, whose body has been deposited at the Ebenezer Mortuary at Tafo, Kumasi.
Initial enquiries revealed that the deceased was sent to the mortuary by an individual identified as Issah, who claimed to be a brother to the deceased.
Further investigations at the Manhyia Government Hospital established that on October 16, 2025, the same Issah brought the deceased to the hospital in a critical condition, with several abdominal injuries, alleging that the victim had been involved in an accident.
However, hospital records indicate that the victim was brought in dead.
"The Police Command assures the public that every effort is being made to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding Mr. Toure's death," a police statement noted.
Additionally, police invited anyone with relevant information "to contact the Regional Crime Investigations Department (CID) Kumasi or call the Police hotline 18555, 191, 112 or reach out to the investigating officer on 0248483741".
