Essikado-Ketan MP launches FoodBank initiative to support vulnerable residents
The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan Constituency in the Western Region, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has launched a constituency-wide FoodBank initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and families experiencing economic hardship.
The programme, known as the EKC FoodBank, seeks to mobilise and distribute essential food items to residents in need, as part of efforts to promote food security and reduce hunger across the constituency.
Key activities under the initiative include the collection of non-perishable food items, the packaging and distribution of food supplies to targeted beneficiaries, and community outreach engagements to identify and support households in distress.
Prof. Ayensu-Danquah has called on individuals, businesses, and organisations to partner with the FoodBank by donating food items or offering logistical and volunteer support.
The initiative forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to improving the welfare of constituents and strengthening community resilience.
