GTA leadership meets IGP to strengthen security ahead of ‘December in GH’ festivities
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, together with her deputy, Abeiku Santana, has paid a working visit to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohornu, to discuss security preparations for this year’s December in GH celebrations.
The meeting forms part of ongoing inter-agency collaborations aimed at ensuring a safe and well-coordinated festive season, as Ghana prepares to welcome thousands of local and international tourists for the annual end-of-year events.
During the engagement, the GTA leadership and the Ghana Police Service explored strategies to enhance public safety, crowd management, traffic control, and general law enforcement support throughout the month-long festivities.
The IGP assured the delegation of the Service’s commitment to maintaining law and order, adding that the Police are ready to work closely with the GTA and event organisers to provide a secure environment for all attendees.
“December in GH” has become one of the country’s biggest tourism attractions, drawing visitors from around the world and significantly boosting the hospitality and creative sectors.
The visit underscores the GTA’s determination to ensure that this year’s edition remains safe, memorable, and successful.
