President Mahama hands over 100 pick-up vehicles to police administration
President John Dramani Mahama has handed over 100 pick-up vehicles to the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to strengthen policing operations across the country.
The vehicles are expected to enhance the operational capacity of the police service, particularly in crime prevention, patrol duties, and rapid response, especially in areas with limited mobility and challenging terrain.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, President Mahama reaffirmed his government’s commitment to equipping security agencies with the necessary logistics to effectively protect lives and property. He noted that improved mobility remains critical to modern policing and public safety.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and members of the police administration expressed appreciation for the support, describing the vehicles as timely and essential to ongoing efforts to improve police visibility and operational efficiency nationwide.

The distribution of the vehicles is expected to support policing activities at both regional and district levels as part of broader security sector reforms.
