Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings celebrates legacy of late father
MP for Klottey Korle Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, is celebrating the life and legacy of her father, former President Jerry John Rawlings, describing him as a leader whose life was defined by courage, discipline and an unshakeable commitment to Ghana.
According to Dr Agyemang-Rawlings, her father’s love for the nation went beyond words, finding expression in personal sacrifice, firm convictions and a relentless pursuit of justice.
She noted that he held a deep belief in the dignity of the ordinary Ghanaian and consistently placed the hopes, struggles and aspirations of the people at the heart of his public service.
She said former President Rawlings exemplified a brand of leadership rooted in bravery, not only during moments of success but especially when confronted with difficult and often unpopular decisions taken in the interest of the greater good.
Dr Agyemang-Rawlings emphasised this in a Facebook post on Tuesday, January 20, that her father stood firmly for accountability, integrity and national pride, constantly reminding Ghanaians that the nation must always come first, above personal comfort or gain.
Although he is no longer alive, she noted that the values he embodied continue to inspire and challenge the country.
She said his legacy lives on in national conversations about leadership, responsibility and service, and in the enduring belief that a just, disciplined, and united Ghana remains a goal worth striving for.
