Court remands suspect into police custody for attempted murder, causing harm
The Berekum Circuit Court, presided over by Judge Osei Kofi Amoako ESQ, has remanded Emmanuel Yeboah into police custody in connection with offences of attempted murder and causing harm.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, January 3, 2026, by the Bono Regional Police Command following a report of an attack in which two individuals sustained multiple injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Emmanuel Yeboah allegedly ambushed the victims, identified as his brother and his brother’s wife, while they were on their way to a disputed cashew farm. The attack is believed to have been triggered by a long-standing disagreement over the ownership of the farm.
Police retrieved a cutlass, which has been kept as an exhibit in the case. The victims are currently on admission at a health facility, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Emmanuel Yeboah is expected to reappear before the Berekum Circuit Court on January 12, 2026, for the continuation of proceedings.
