EOCO arrests 3 over drone flights at headquarters during
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested three people for allegedly flying drones over its headquarters without authorisation.
The arrests took place on Thursday, October 1, while Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah was at the EOCO office for questioning. A woman and two men were picked up by officials.
The drones were reportedly flown over the agency’s premises for several minutes during the MP’s appearance.
Mr Baffour Awuah voluntarily appeared before EOCO accompanied by his lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea.
His appearance followed an Accra High Court warrant issued on Wednesday, September 30, for his arrest after EOCO said earlier attempts to secure his attendance had failed.
The warrant was connected to an ongoing investigation into alleged unauthorised financial transactions at SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Limited.
EOCO is investigating allegations involving possible financial loss, dissipation of public funds and money laundering.
The allegations remain under investigation.
