Raymond Archer has been confirmed as the substantive Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), effective October 27, 2026.

EOCO Board Chairman Daniel Domelevo confirmed that Mr Archer formally assumed the position on that date.

A former investigative journalist, Mr Archer had served as Acting Executive Director since August 2025, when he was appointed to replace Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah.

EOCO is responsible for investigating and prosecuting economic and organised crime, including money laundering, human trafficking and related offences.

The Office has handled several high-profile cases, including an investigation involving dancehall artiste Shatta Wale over a Lamborghini Urus linked by US authorities to a $4 million fraud case.

EOCO has also arrested former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye, over alleged financial and procurement irregularities involving about GH¢55 million.

Mr Archer is expected to strengthen EOCO’s operations and pursue its mandate of investigating and prosecuting economic and organised crime.
