C/R: MP announces plans for nursing training college, new SHS in Kasoa
The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Miss Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has announced plans to establish a Nursing Training College and construct a new Senior High School in Kasoa as part of efforts to expand access to education and promote development in the constituency.
Miss Okunor made the announcement during a courtesy visit to the chiefs of the Odupong Ofaakor Traditional Area, where she outlined her vision for strengthening educational infrastructure in Kasoa.
According to the MP, the proposed Nursing Training College will provide Senior High School graduates with opportunities to pursue tertiary education locally, while the planned Senior High School will help reduce pressure on the already congested Odupong Senior High School.
She described the projects as transformative initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for the youth and improving human capital development in the area.
“I believe these projects will transform Kasoa and create opportunities for our youth,” Miss Okunor stated.
During the visit, the MP also presented assorted consumables to the chiefs ahead of the Christmas festivities, reaffirming her commitment to working closely with traditional authorities to drive development in the constituency.
The traditional leaders welcomed the proposed projects and expressed appreciation for the MP’s gesture.
They encouraged her to leverage her position and influence to attract investments and create employment opportunities for the growing youth population in Kasoa.
“We pray that God blesses you as you work for the people,” a chief said.
Miss Okunor indicated that the planned educational projects form part of a broader development agenda for Awutu Senya East, with additional initiatives expected to be rolled out in the coming years.
