Fenice Metal Technology Ltd electrifies Buerko Good Shepherd Anglican Primary School, boosts learning infrastructure in Ningo-Prampram
In an effort to support education and close infrastructural gaps in the Ningo-Prampram District, Fenice Metal Technology Limited, a major sponsor in most of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association's (GREDA) events, has provided educational supplies and commissioned an electrification project at the Buerko Good Shepherd Anglican Primary School.
The intervention was a component of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, which supported community development and enhanced teaching and learning environments. The company's CSR efforts to promote education also include scholarships for talented but underprivileged children in the district.
In addition to installing electric fans, cable cabling, switches, outlets and lighting fixtures, the electrification work included wiring and lighting for ten rooms, including kindergarten through sixth grade classrooms, one office and one lavatory.
Speaking at the ceremony, Andy Lu, CEO of Fenice Metal Technology Limited, emphasised that education is still at the heart of the company's social duty and that every child should have the chance to develop, study, and reach their full potential.
He pointed out that a large number of kids in the neighborhood still do not have access to the crucial educational materials and support networks required for academic success.
Mr Lu clarified that through the company’s "Waste to Wealth" industrial process, which focuses on turning recyclable materials into valuable electrical cable products, Fenice Metal Technology Limited, the company that makes Sun Kablo Electrical Cables and Accessories, has remained dedicated to supporting communities over the years.
He said that the organization recently won the "New Discovery in Cable Manufacturing Award” at the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association GREDA Awards 2025, in recognition of the company's growing contribution to Ghana's manufacturing and construction industries."
He continued by saying that the corporation responded favorably to a request made by community leaders and school administrators, which prompted the intervention. He also urges other stakeholders to keep funding education, citing it as the cornerstone of the country's progress and a means of ensuring children have a better future.
The school encountered a number of difficulties, according to Norbert Selorm Afram, the headteacher. He clarified that attendance is mostly impacted by the fact that both teachers and students frequently walk significant distances to school.
In order to increase attendance and lower teacher absenteeism, he argued for the extension of potable water to the school and the supply of staff housing.
The students and the entire Buerko Good Shepherd Anglican Primary School expressed gratitude for the assistance, stating that the availability of electricity has enhanced the learning environment, especially for ICT classes.
The headteacher thanked the corporation for the initiative, pointing out that the school had previously struggled with poor lighting on the school grounds, which had an impact on computing classes.
