The Heritage and Cultural Society of Africa (HACSA) Foundation, an international nonprofit founded in Ghana, will commemorate a decade of transformative impact on 29th September, 2026, with a historic dual event: the graduation ceremony of 80 young women from Cohort 5 of its flagship Tech4Girls program, alongside the official launch of the 10th Anniversary HACSA Sankofa Summit.

The High-Level ceremony will feature the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, as the Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker. Other notable guests include the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Ghana, H.E. Zia Choudhury, the traditional ruler of Osu, Nortse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, corporate executives and international partners.

During the event, a specially commissioned Sankofa Bird Mascot, a symbol of reflection, heritage, and forward vision that will take center stage at the December summit, will be unveiled, along with a dedicated Summit web app designed to facilitate global participation and diaspora engagement.

Empowering Young Women Through Tech4Girls

The graduation of 80 young women from Cohort 5 of the Tech4Girls program underscores HACSA’s commitment to bridging the digital gender divide and equipping African youth with high-demand digital skills, mentorship, and career readiness. Guided by HACSA’s strategy to transition youth into sustainable livelihoods, the Tech4Girls program aims for at least 70% of graduates to be in higher education or secure gainful employment, internships, or start viable business ventures within six months of completion, with at least 30% of those employed achieving an average income increase. In a survey of all previous cohorts, these goals were exceeded.

Roadmap to the 10th Anniversary HACSA Sankofa Summit & Charity Gala

Reaching its 10th anniversary milestone in November, HACSA will host its flagship global gathering — the HACSA Sankofa Summit — from December 10th to 15th. Bringing together Africa enthusiasts, the global African diaspora, thought leaders, policymakers, creative innovators, philanthropists and impact investors, the December summit will comprise an international conference, a charity gala, heritage tours and a festival of African heritage and culture. The Charity Gala will serve as a fundraising platform to raise money for HACSA’s Programs and Projects, including a creative arts fellowship program and the Tech4Girls Initiative.

A Decade of Heritage, Culture, and Innovation

Over the past decade, HACSA has championed African heritage and culture as catalysts for progress, development, and social equity. Moving into its second decade, HACSA is advancing a strategy focused on financial self-sustainability, measurable livelihood outcomes, and building scalable physical and digital ecosystems that upskill African youth and connect them with global diaspora networks, mentors, and markets.
