Krowor Municipal Assembly presents 1,551 pieces of furniture to boost public basic schools in the community
The Krowor Municipal Assembly has presented 1,551 pieces of school furniture to the Municipal Education Directorate for distribution to public basic schools across the municipality in a move expected to address existing furniture shortages and improve teaching and learning conditions.
The presentation was made on Thursday, October 15, 2026, by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Ing. Paul Afotey Quaye, together with the Member of Parliament for Krowor Constituency, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.
The furniture comprises 53 hexagonal desks, 650 dual desks, 800 mono desks, and 48 teachers’ tables and chairs.
The intervention is expected to provide pupils and teachers with the necessary furniture to support effective teaching and learning in public basic schools across the municipality.
The assembly has also announced plans to deliver an additional 433 pieces of furniture in the coming weeks to strengthen the initiative.
The outstanding consignment will comprise 297 hexagonal tables and chairs as well as 136 teachers’ tables and chairs.
When delivered, the additional furniture is expected to complement the initial consignment and help address the furniture needs of public basic schools throughout Krowor.
This intervention marks a significant step towards improving educational infrastructure in the municipality, particularly by providing pupils with appropriate seating and learning spaces and ensuring teachers have suitable furniture to support their work.
The Krowor Municipal Assembly has expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey for their commitment to improving education and supporting the development of children in the constituency.
The assembly says the initiative forms part of efforts to create a more conducive learning environment and improve the overall quality of basic education in Krowor.
