Newly elected NUGS President pays courtesy call on Deputy Defence Minister
The newly elected President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Rashid Ibrahim, together with his General Secretary, has paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister for Defence, Mr. Ernest Brogya Genfi, at the Ministry of Defence.
The meeting, which forms part of the Union’s leadership engagement with key government stakeholders, focused on issues of youth development, national service reforms, and opportunities for student involvement in national policy dialogues.
Mr. Brogya Genfi commended the new NUGS leadership for their proactive approach and assured them of the Ministry’s support in promoting discipline, patriotism, and leadership development among Ghanaian students.
He further encouraged the student leaders to continue advocating for the interests of the youth while fostering unity and constructive dialogue within the educational community.
The NUGS President, Rashid Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Minister for his warm reception and reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to partnering with state institutions in advancing national development and student welfare.
The visit marked the beginning of what both parties described as a “mutually beneficial working relationship” aimed at empowering Ghana’s youth to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.
