Promasidor Ghana marks World Milk Day with schoolchildren

Promasidor Ghana has marked World Milk Day 2026 with a health and nutrition outreach programme in the Ashanti Region, reaching more than 10,000 school children.

The initiative provided health screenings, nutrition education and breakfast meals to pupils and families across selected school clusters, including T.I. Ahmadiyya Basic School, Afaus Lovely School and Best Brain International School.

The programme coincided with the 27th anniversary of the Cowbell brand in Ghana and forms part of Promasidor Ghana's corporate social responsibility efforts and support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The initiative focused on SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).

Healthcare professionals conducted pre- and post-event health assessments and led educational sessions on nutrition and healthy living.

During the screenings, participants received information on the nutritional benefits of milk, particularly its role in supporting children's growth, cognitive development, energy levels and immune function.

Speaking during the programme, Eric Osei Asenso, a Nursing Officer at Asafo Boakye Specialist Hospital, provided guidance to parents and caregivers on the importance of regular milk consumption in preventing nutritional deficiencies among children.

Linda Akua Penni, Brand Executive at Promasidor Ghana, said the event was organised in line with the global theme for World Milk Day 2026, which recognises the contributions of women to dairy production and family nutrition.

She expressed appreciation to Ghanaian consumers for their continued support of the Cowbell brand over the past 27 years and reaffirmed the company's commitment to providing affordable and fortified dairy products to meet the nutritional needs of Ghanaian households.
