Marian Jemima Akua Adzroe, Acting Volta Regional Director of Education receives her honors

Marian Jemima Akua Adzroe, the Acting Volta Regional Director of Education, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to education, vocational training, youth empowerment and social development in the Volta Region.

The recognition, under the Education Excellence category, highlights her transformative leadership and commitment to improving educational outcomes while creating practical opportunities for young people and vulnerable groups.

During her tenure as Acting Volta Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Adzroe demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing challenges affecting academic performance in schools.

She organised a three-day residential workshop for 68 Senior High School heads to examine the declining academic performance of students and develop practical strategies to improve teaching, learning and institutional management.

The initiative brought together heads of schools to deliberate on the challenges confronting their institutions and explore measures to strengthen academic outcomes, leadership and accountability.

Beyond formal education, Mrs. Adzroe has also contributed significantly to vocational training and youth development through the ERIJEM Institute where she has supported more than 1,000 young people and 3,000 young mothers with skills training accredited by the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI).

Through the institute, beneficiaries have also been exposed to opportunities within the hospitality industry, equipping them with practical skills to improve their employability and livelihoods.

Her social interventions have further extended to the Ho School for the Blind where she has offered support to promote the welfare and development of visually impaired students.

Mrs. Adzroe's work cuts across educational administration, vocational development and social empowerment with a focus on equipping people with skills, confidence and opportunities to improve their lives.

Her recognition therefore reflects a broader contribution to education and human development, particularly her efforts to transform challenges into practical opportunities for young people and vulnerable members of society.
