YEA CEO distributes 125 bags of maize to SHSs in Bono and Bono East Regions

The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has distributed 125 bags of maize to selected Senior High Schools across the Bono and Bono East Regions as part of the Agency’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
The beneficiary institutions include Wenchi Methodist SHS, Sunyani SHS, Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Koase Senior Technical School, Nchiraa SHS, St. Francis Xavier SHS, and Istiqaama SHS.
Speaking during the distribution, Mr. Basintale emphasised that the gesture was a clear demonstration of the potential and readiness of Ghana’s youth to contribute meaningfully to national development when given the opportunity.
He revealed that the maize was cultivated by young farmers under YEA-supported agricultural initiatives.
“The maize you are receiving today is not imported; it is grown by young Ghanaians.
This shows that with the right support, the youth are more than capable of feeding the nation,” he said.
He further assured that the Agency would continue to expand its agricultural programmes, not only to empower the youth with employment but also to support national food security efforts.
Mr. Basintale urged the heads of the beneficiary institutions to make effective use of the donation, adding that YEA remains committed to serving communities and strengthening its impact across sectors.
The donation was warmly received by school heads, who expressed gratitude for the timely intervention amid rising food costs and increasing enrollment.
