Applicants taking part in the ongoing 2025/2026 Ghana Police Service recruitment screening and documentation exercise in the Ashanti Region have commended the process, describing it as orderly, efficient and a marked improvement over previous years.

Reporting from the Kumasi Jubilee Park Centre, Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah observed a well-coordinated operation, significantly different from the overcrowding and disorder that characterised earlier recruitment exercises.

Unlike previous years, applicants were required to report strictly at designated times, a measure that helped prevent overcrowding and eliminated the mass gatherings that had in the past led to stampedes and fatalities.

The welfare of applicants was also prioritised, with large canopies erected to provide shade from the sun, while adequate seating arrangements were made to ensure comfort as applicants waited their turn.

Additionally, the Ministry of the Interior provided free refreshments, including bottled water, soft drinks and biscuits, to keep applicants hydrated throughout the exercise.

Police officers overseeing the process were noted for their courteous and professional conduct, guiding applicants through document arrangement, height measurement and final verification procedures.

Some applicants expressed appreciation for the smooth and transparent nature of the exercise, commending the Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, for introducing measures that ensured an efficient and stress-free screening and documentation process.

The Ghana Police Service has indicated that the recruitment exercise is aimed at strengthening the Service with qualified personnel while maintaining fairness and transparency.
