King Kwasi Kyei Da,rkwah (KKD), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Class Media Group (CMG), has nicely presented an invitation to keen writers to engage the public and policymakers through the media for national development.

The invitation is in line with a brand new current affairs and opinion segment on CMG’s CTV called Commentary.

In a statement addressed to “dear distinguished writer and active citizen,” the media and culture icon affectionately addressed as His Royal Blackness (HRB) explained, “This is a vital platform for you and all Ghanaian thought-leaders, truth-tellers and purposeful writers of prose, poetry, and satire everywhere.

“Commentary is informed writing by caring citizens with passion for freedom and justice; and deep desire for wisdom, truth, courage and humanity.”

“It is devoted to personal comment, feature articles, informed opinion, poetry, satire and text from speeches on matters of state, governance, education, community, development of the arts and sciences, and the wellness, safety, and liberty of the citizenry,” the statement continued.

“It is similar to an editorial but more in the construct and taste of an op-ed piece; identification of a problem, discussion and conclusion with proffering of prudent solutions.”

Commentary broadcasts right after the 12 PM, 6 PM, and 6 AM news bulletins on CTV: Ghana’s No. 1.

CMG’s 9 radio networks across Ghana, and its online portal classfmonline.com, together with affiliated networks across the country and beyond will also reflect the programme.

“Our CEO King Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, himself a notable thought-leader and courageous truth-teller added Commentary as a penultimate segment to 3 news bulletins on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays,” noted CMG (Class 91.3 FM) news anchor and media analyst Valentina Ofori-Afriyie.

Commentary is a unique platform for creative writers – established, rising or aspiring – and concerned citizens to share their burning thoughts on pertinent issues, national problems, and solutions with the entire nation and beyond.

The statement signed by KKD entreated interested individuals “to send your Commentary to oped@classmediagroup.com for broadcast on TV & radio for the world to know”.

“We can’t wait to read your profound, incisive and inspirational commentary for the entire nation and her diaspora,” it concluded.
