Communications Minister summons MultiChoice executives over DSTV pricing concerns

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has summoned top executives of MultiChoice Africa, including the Group CEO, Country Manager, and Board Chair of MultiChoice Ghana, to a critical meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2025.
The meeting will focus on aligning DSTV Ghana’s pricing strategy with Ghana’s current economic conditions, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and addressing concerns over revenue loss and affordability for consumers.
Mr. Nartey George issued the summons during a preliminary meeting with a delegation from MultiChoice Ghana in his office, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the current bouquet prices being charged by DSTV.
He emphasised the need for the company to take immediate corrective measures to reflect fair pricing and greater transparency in their operations.
“This engagement is essential to ensure that the interests of Ghanaian consumers are protected and that MultiChoice operates within a framework that supports economic equity and regulatory accountability,” the Minister stated.
The Ministry has assured the public that the outcome of the meeting will be made known next week, following deliberations with the MultiChoice leadership.
