Ellembelle MP launches 2025 edition of NkrumahFest to honour Ghana’s first President

The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has officially launched the 2025 edition of NkrumahFest, an annual festival held in honour of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President and a towering figure in Africa’s liberation history.
The festival, which has become a significant cultural and intellectual event in the Ellembelle constituency, celebrates Dr. Nkrumah’s ideology, philosophy, and enduring legacy as a champion of Pan-Africanism and national development.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Armah-Kofi Buah highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the values Dr. Nkrumah stood for, particularly in the areas of self-determination, African unity, and social justice.
“NkrumahFest is more than a remembrance—it's a reaffirmation of the ideals that gave birth to Ghana’s independence and inspired freedom movements across Africa,” the MP said.
Since its inception, NkrumahFest has served as a platform for engaging the youth, scholars, traditional leaders, and the wider community in dialogue and activities that reflect on Ghana’s past, assess its present, and shape its future in line with Nkrumah’s vision.
This year’s edition will feature a series of events, including lectures, exhibitions, cultural displays, and community service activities—all designed to highlight the timeless relevance of Nkrumah’s leadership and ideas.
Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah, a long-time advocate of Pan-African values and social equity, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Dr. Nkrumah’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.
NkrumahFest 2025 is expected to attract participants from across Ghana and the diaspora, further solidifying Ellembelle’s reputation as a hub for preserving Ghana’s political heritage.
