Friday, June 6 declared public holiday for Eid-Ul-Adha

The Ministry of the Interior has officially declared Friday, June 6, 2025, as a statutory public holiday in observance of Eid-Ul-Adha, one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar.
In a statement issued in Accra on Thursday, May 29, 2025, and signed by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the public was informed that the day should be observed as a public holiday across the country.
The Minister urged all citizens to take note and observe the day in accordance with the significance of the occasion.
Eid-Ul-Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is celebrated by Muslims around the world to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. The day is marked with prayers, the sharing of food and alms, and acts of charity
