GOIL CEO pays courtesy call on IGP to deepen fuel supply partnership for police operations
The Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of GOIL PLC, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, has paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, aimed at strengthening the long-standing partnership between GOIL and the Ghana Police Service.
The meeting focused on sustaining a reliable fuel supply to support police operations across the country, addressing implementation challenges, and exploring ways to deepen collaboration, particularly in newly created regions and marine security operations.
Mr. Bawa was accompanied by a high-level GOIL delegation, including the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Marcus Deo Dake; Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Robert Kyere; Head of Operations, Ing. Denis Nii-Komiete Amui; and other senior officials.
The IGP was joined by members of the Police Management Board, among them COP Dr. Ernest Kwabena Owusu, Director-General of General Services; COP Mohammed Fuseini Suraji, Director-General of the National Patrol Department; COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba, Director-General of Technical; COP Michael Nketia Frempong, Director-General of Finance; and COP Iddi Seidu Lansah, Director-General of Welfare.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Yohuno proposed closer collaboration between the two institutions to improve fuel supply logistics, including the construction of storage facilities in hard-to-reach and newly created regions.
He also expressed appreciation to GOIL for its continued support of police operations nationwide.
Mr. Bawa reaffirmed GOIL’s commitment to working closely with the Ghana Police Service and relevant regulatory agencies to ensure efficient and seamless fuel supply in support of national security.
The visit underscored GOIL’s role as a strategic state-owned energy partner and highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening cooperation in the interest of public safety, security, and national development.
