GWCL: Ho begins to see flow of water, albeit slow
Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has restored water supply to residents of Ho and its adjoining communities after its week-long repair work at Kpeve Headworks.
According to Ho 92.5 FM's news desk, residents in some areas have confirmed the flow of water though slow. They have had to rush out with their buckets, barrels, and gallons to get as much water as possible.
Appreciating the management of GWCL for their tireless efforts to end the water crisis in the area, residents further urged same to provide all the needed support and logistics to engineers to facilitate the speedy completion of their work.
According to the GWCL, its engineers are working around the clock to fix the situation which has left residents of Ho, Peki, Kpeve, and Ziavi, among others, without water for about a week.
Mr Ransford Nii Gyan Amoo said residents of the area should expect water in the next 24 hours.
"The engineers have rectified the water challenge yesterday Sunday 5th January 2025. But they later realised a little alignment connection hence have had to return to Accra for other materials to enable them work. As you can see, they are working speedily and by close of today, we shall finish and restore water for supply," he said.
He revealed the GWCL team was only working on one of the pipes for now and that the remaining two will be worked on later.
He added that management was working hard to procure new pipes, also.
Speaking to Ho FM, Mr Agbezudor Philip, the Regional Manager of the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC) who toured the Kpeve Headworks on Monday, December 6, 2025, with the media assured the PURC would continue to follow up on the GWCL's work till water supply was fully restored for all residents.
He urged calm as engineers continued to work.
