Min of Youth Dev't & Emp envisions job centres in every district countrywide

To ensure adequate employment opportunities for the youth of Ghana, job centres will be established in every district countrywide, the Minister of Youth Development & Empowerment has announced.
George Opare Addo spoke about the initiative to decentralise job centres during a working visit to the Malik Basintale-led Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
He said by distributing job placement services across the country, the government aimed to ensure more and more young people received career guidance, training, and unmediated links to employment opportunities, opening doors to them in both the public and private sectors.
“The assurance I am going to give is that President Mahama is going to work hard to reposition the YEA as a place where young people can seek refuge anytime they are seeking job opportunities and training,” Opare-Addo, alias Pablo, said.
“We have a similar policy in our manifesto and so our assurance to them is that we going to scale it up so that we have similar centres in all districts. The job centres should be closer to the person who seeks the job for young people to easily access it and the opportunities made available to them.”
The first-ever Minister of Youth Development & Empowerment, he spoke to Citi News.
