President Mahama visits conflict-ravaged Bawku

President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, is set to visit Bawku today as part of efforts to address the protracted conflict between the Kusasis and the Mamprusi communities.
The visit will include a crucial engagement with the Yagbonwura and other key stakeholders, aimed at finding sustainable solutions to the long-standing tensions in the area.
The conflict, which has plagued Bawku for years, flared up again in November 2024, leading to increased unrest and concern among residents.
President Mahama’s mission is expected to prioritize fostering dialogue, rebuilding trust, and promoting peace among the feuding groups to restore stability and development in the region.
