Defence Minister opens refurbished GAF Medical Services headquarters at Burma Camp

The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, on Wednesday, April 29, 2025, inaugurated the newly re-modelled and refurbished headquarters of the Medical Services Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at Burma Camp in Accra.
The refurbished facility is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of the GAF Medical Services, providing improved healthcare services for military personnel and their dependents.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Omane Boamah expressed his appreciation to the Military High Command, led by Major General William Agyapong, as well as senior and junior officers, soldiers, and defence civilian staff for their commitment to sustaining medical services within the Armed Forces.
“We appreciate their dedicated service,” the Minister said, acknowledging the vital role the medical directorate plays in the health and welfare of the armed forces.
Dr. Omane Boamah also commended private sector partners who supported the project financially, presenting them with awards in recognition of their contributions.
He described their support as “welcome generosity” and encouraged continued collaboration between the private sector and the military in delivering critical infrastructure and services.
The event drew attendance from top military brass, defence ministry officials, and stakeholders from the private sector.
