GMTF Administrator highlights April rollout in television interview
The Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has outlined the mandate and upcoming rollout of the Fund during a live appearance on Breakfast Café on WoezorTV.
Speaking on the programme, Madam Darko-Opoku addressed frequently asked questions about the Fund, including its purpose, target beneficiaries and operational framework.
She explained that the Ghana Medical Trust Fund was established to bridge the financing gap for specialised healthcare, particularly for families battling chronic and life-threatening conditions such as cancer, kidney failure, stroke and heart disease.
According to her, the Fund’s rollout in April marks a significant step toward expanding financial support for patients who struggle to afford costly treatments.
She emphasised the importance of transparency and public engagement, noting that the initiative is designed to serve all Ghanaians in need.
The Administrator encouraged the public to stay informed, ask questions and follow updates across the Fund’s social media platforms.
The GMTF also appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to support the initiative by dialling *255# on all networks or making direct bank transfers to its designated accounts at National Investment Bank (Airport Branch) and First Atlantic Bank (Head Office Branch).
According to her, the intervention forms part of broader efforts to transform healthcare financing and improve access to specialised medical care nationwide.
