Adwoa Safo declares to contest Dome-Kwabenya parliamentary seat once again
Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo has announced her decision to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the 2028 general elections.
In a statement dated Thursday, October 22, 2026, the former lawmaker said her decision is aimed at reclaiming the party's seat in the constituency.
According to her, serving the people of Dome-Kwabenya remained a top priority, hence her intention to re-contest the seat after the party lost it in the 2024 elections with the former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Mike Oquaye Jnr., running as the NPP parliamentary candidate.
“After considerable reflection, extensive consultation and broad-based engagement with party leadership and executives and guided by my own conviction and unwavering loyalty to the Principles and Values of our political tradition, I formally announce my intention to once again present myself for consideration as the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency when the party announces the timetable and guidelines for the parliamentary primaries,” lawyer Adwoa Safo stated.
She noted that this decision is premised on her longstanding commitment to the constituency and promised to work assiduously to graple for the seat.
“While much remains to be done, I remain committed to building on the progress we made together and work tirelessly towards a better future for Dome-Kwabenya,” she added.
