Brogya Genfi refutes The Fourth Estate’s publication on asset declaration

Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Genfi, has strongly refuted a recent publication by The Fourth Estate that suggested he had failed to declare his assets in accordance with constitutional requirements.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Mr. Genfi described the publication as “false” and “damaging,” insisting that he had duly complied with the asset declaration regulations.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I, Brogya Genfi, Deputy Minister for Defence, filed my assets declaration with the Office of the Auditor General on 28th March 2025 at 4:00pm,” he said.
“I have the official receipt as evidence of this filing.”
Mr. Genfi expressed concern that the false claim had caused reputational harm.
“Your false publication has lowered my image in the minds of right-thinking persons,” he stated, addressing The Fourth Estate directly.
He further urged the media outlet to take the necessary corrective action within 24 hours, warning that failure to do so would compel him to seek legal advice.
