Former Assin South NPP Chairman hails launch of Patriotic Institute as party's ideological leap

Former Assin South Constituency Chairman and longstanding New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Theophilus Konadu Taylor, has delivered a stirring endorsement of the newly launched Patriotic Institute, describing it as a defining moment in the party’s political journey.
In a powerful goodwill message addressed to the NPP national leadership, Mr. Taylor commended the party’s executives, with particular praise for General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, for what he called the realisation of a “long-cherished vision.”
“Today is not just about brick and mortar.
It is about cementing the soul of our political tradition,” the influential Central Region figure declared, underscoring the symbolic importance of the Institute’s unveiling.
The Patriotic Institute is expected to serve as the NPP’s ideological engine room, reinforcing its foundational values of patriotism, the rule of law, liberty, and private sector-led development.
Its creation marks a strategic move by the party to sharpen its political philosophy and reconnect with its grassroots support base ahead of future elections.
Mr. Taylor, now a revered patron of the party, urged NPP members across the country to embrace the Institute as a vital space for ideological renewal.
“We must take time to understand who we are,” he stated.
“We are not just a party—we are a movement built on the ideals of freedom, justice, and enterprise.”
He also took a subtle jab at the opposition, asserting that it is under NPP leadership that Ghanaians enjoy true freedom and security.
“That’s our legacy,” he said. “And it’s our duty to protect it.”
As the NPP prepares for a critical political season, the Patriotic Institute is expected to play a central role in shaping party messaging, policy discourse, and leadership development, especially among the youth.
Closing his message, Mr. Taylor delivered a unifying call to action: “Let us remain united in purpose, grounded in our beliefs, and resolute in our commitment to building a prosperous Ghana.”
