Gordon Asare-Bediako declares intent to contest NPP Communications Director position
Broadcaster and communications practitioner Gordon Asare-Bediako has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), subject to the party’s constitutional processes and the official announcement of elections.
In a public statement issued at the start of the new year, Mr Asare-Bediako said his decision follows careful reflection and wide consultations with party members, sympathisers and other stakeholders, who, according to him, have emphasised the need to strengthen the party’s communication machinery.
He highlighted the critical role of effective, disciplined and credible communication in deepening engagement between the party and the Ghanaian public, countering misinformation, and clearly articulating the NPP’s vision for national development.
Mr Asare-Bediako brings to the table experience as a broadcaster, writer and communications professional, with formal training in Political Science, Marketing, Strategic Communication and Branding.
He stated that these skills position him to contribute meaningfully to reshaping and strengthening the party’s communications strategy.
“I stand prepared to offer my service in this regard, in the collective interest of the party and the Republic,” he said.
He stressed that his intention remains in principle and will be pursued in full respect of the NPP’s internal democratic processes once nominations are officially opened.
Mr Asare-Bediako’s declaration adds to early indications of interest in key party positions as the NPP prepares for internal reorganisation and renewal ahead of future electoral contests.
