Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dzifa Tegah has declared her intention to contest the position of Deputy General Secretary in the party’s upcoming national executive elections.

Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson on Accra FM’s morning show “Ghana Yensom” , Ms. Tegah said her work in the women’s wing had helped make the party more attractive to young women.

“I made the women’s wing attractive for the young girls,” she said.

Ms. Tegah, who currently serves as the NDC’s National Deputy Women’s Organiser, said her decision to contest the position was informed by her experience in grassroots mobilisation, party organisation and engagement with members across the country.

She believes the experience has equipped her to take on a broader administrative role at the party’s national headquarters.

According to her, her leadership would focus on strengthening communication between the national secretariat and the grassroots, improving administrative efficiency and ensuring that every party member feels included in the party’s activities.

“I will bring the Secretariat closer to every member of the NDC,” she previously stated during the declaration of her candidacy at Rawlings House in Accra.

Ms. Tegah is seeking to position herself as a candidate capable of bringing fresh ideas and inclusive leadership to the party’s administration as the NDC prepares for the 2028 general elections.

The party is expected to hold its national executive elections on December 19, 2026 with eleven persons reportedly picking nomination forms to contest the Deputy General Secretary position.

She has appealed to delegates to support her candidature, pledging to strengthen the party structures, deepen grassroots participation and promote a more inclusive approach to party administration.

Her bid comes as the NDC prepares to elect national executives who will be responsible for coordinating the party activities and consolidating its organisational structures ahead of the next general elections.
