Ken Agyapong has pulled out of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s “Thank You Tour” following reports that one of his supporters was allegedly stabbed by a man described as a “macho” and purportedly linked to Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s camp during a party event in Kumasi.

The incident, which has raised concerns over security and inter-camp tensions within the party, reportedly occurred at an NPP event in Kumasi, prompting Agyapong to reassess his participation in the tour.

The stabbing remains under investigation, and details of the incident have yet to be fully confirmed by local police.

Despite his withdrawal from the tour, Ken Agyapong is scheduled to speak today at the Ark Plaza in Kumasi at 7:30 a.m.

He is expected to address the incident, elaborate on his decision to withdraw, and outline his views on the need for improved security measures at political events.

Party insiders have indicated that the alleged affiliation of the assailant with Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s camp is contributing to rising tensions, although further verification is awaited from law enforcement authorities.

The development has sparked a debate among party members regarding the safety of supporters and the overall conduct of political activities.

Authorities are investigating the matter, and both the police and party officials have promised to expedite the inquiry into what led to the attack.

As the investigation unfolds, political analysts suggest that the incident could have wider repercussions on the party’s image and the management of future public events.

Ken Agyapong’s remarks at today’s scheduled speech are keenly anticipated, as they may provide additional insights into internal party dynamics and the measures being considered to ensure the safety of participants at political gatherings.
