NDC Press Corps founding member Adnan Adams eyes NEC Slot to fix NDC's communication gap
Veteran journalist and National Democratic Congress (NDC) organizer, Adnan Adams Mohammed is set to contest as a member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) with a campaign built on a message to empower the grassroots and professionalize the party's communication.
In his declaration letter dated October 20, 2026, Adams said he is no stranger to the party's internal struggles, having started from the very bottom as a Branch Secretary, then as Constituency Communications Officer before serving on the national communication front.
As a founding member of the NDC Press Corps, Adams says he has seen firsthand how poor communication between the national headquarters and the branches weakens the party on the ground.
“Having worked from the branch level all the way to the national platform, I understand both the core operational needs of our grassroots members and the strategic imperative required at the national executive level," he stated.
Fix The Communication Chain
Adams says, if elected, he will streamline the party’s communication channels between national leadership and branch executives to ensure the base is "well-resourced, heard, and prioritised”.
Leveraging his journalism background, he wants the NDC to move from reactive to proactive media strategy shaping the narrative instead of chasing it.
“We must leverage professional media experience to proactively shape the public narrative and articulate our party's policies clearly to the electorate."
He has pledged to expand training programmes for young communicators and cadres to build a stronger and a more disciplined party machinery.
Adnan Adams believes the NDC's future depends not just on its message but on the quality of people managing its structures.
“I hereby formally announce my intention to contest for the position of National Executive Committee Member...The NDC remains the hope of the Ghanaian people," he said, noting that the party needs leaders with "experience, operational depth, unwavering loyalty, and proven capacity to execute winning strategies”.
His entry into the NEC race comes at a time when the NDC is working to strengthen its internal structures and sharpen its communication ahead of future political contests.
