NDC sets June 18 deadline for payment of outstanding dues ahead of internal elections
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed all aspirants and party members with outstanding financial obligations to settle their dues by June 18, 2026, as part of preparations for its upcoming internal elections.
The directive was issued in a circular dated June 10, 2026, and signed by the Deputy General Secretary (Finance and Administration), Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, on behalf of the General Secretary.
According to the party, the decision follows a Functional Executive Committee (FEC) meeting held on June 9, 2026, where it was resolved that only members in good financial standing will be eligible to contest in the elections.
The statement warned that any aspirant who fails to meet the deadline will be barred from participating in the polls until full payment is made and clearance obtained.
The party also released its revised electoral timetable to guide the conduct of internal elections across constituencies and regions.
Vetting and elections are scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 11, 2026, followed by a mop-up exercise between July 14 and July 24, 2026.
The process will then move to the finalisation of the election album by the Elections Committee, which is expected to run from July 29 to August 14, 2026.
The NDC has urged all regional and constituency executives, as well as aspiring candidates, to comply strictly with the directives to ensure a smooth and orderly electoral process.
The leadership emphasised that adherence to financial obligations and electoral guidelines is critical to maintaining discipline and fairness within the party as it prepares for its internal contests.
