NPP National Executives Election: John Boadu elected National Chairman, JFK, Titus Glover, Hawa Koomson win big

Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has emerged as the party’s new National Chairman.

John  Boadu secured the top spot at the party’s National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, beating his closest contender, the former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, with 2,888 votes.

​The high-stakes election also saw incumbent General Secretary Justin Frimpong Koduah retain his post in a decisive landslide victory, polling 4,486 votes.

​The Vice Chairmanship positions were swept by Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, Henry Nana Boakye, and Nana Akomea, who emerged as first, second, and third Vice Chairmen respectively.

Former Tema East Member of Parliament, Daniel Nii Kwartey Titus Glover, polled 2,964 votes to defeat six other contenders for the National Organiser position.

​Former Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mavis Hawa Koomson garnered 783 votes to defeat Hajia Safia Mohammed for the National Women’s Organiser portfolio. 

The National Youth Organiser seat went to Abanga Fuseini Yakubu who outlasted five rivals with 1,550 votes.

​Alfred Kojo Thompson secured the National Treasurer position with 2,243 votes while Alhaji Ali Suraj won the Nasara Coordinator slot with 372 votes to lead the party's outreach in Zongo communities. 

Dennis Miracle Aboagye was elected unopposed as the National Communications Officer.

​The newly elected leadership will steer the party's executive machinery over the next four years as the NPP prepares its organisational structure ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Addressing the delegates after the election, the newly elected National Chairman, John Boadu called for unity to enable the party win the 2028 general elections.
