The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibril, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of lacking leadership and integrity, alleging that their quest to return to power is driven by a desire to shield themselves from accountability.
Speaking in an interview with Samuel Payitey of the Accra 100.5FM News Desk, Mr. Jibril said the NPP does not deserve to be a strong opposition party, describing them instead as “a group of individuals whose ultimate aim is to destroy the nation.”
According to him, the NDC remains committed to restoring responsible governance and protecting the country’s democratic values.
Touching on the NDC’s upcoming internal elections, Mr. Jibril stressed that the process will be a contest of ideas rather than imposition.
He assured that the elections will be conducted in a transparent, free, and fair manner to reflect the true will of party members.
