The 12-member committee tasked with investigating the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections has officially presented its findings to the national leadership of the party.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, April 16, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

Chairing the committee was former Speaker of Parliament, Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye, who, along with his team, handed over the final report to the party’s hierarchy.

The high-profile event was attended by key figures in the party, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua.

The committee's mandate was to thoroughly examine the causes of the party’s loss in the 2024 polls and make recommendations to prevent a recurrence in future elections.

While details of the report remain under wraps, Prof. Mike Oquaye declined to comment publicly on its content following the handover.

The party leadership has yet to release the findings to the public but is expected to review the recommendations and take steps to reposition the NPP ahead of future electoral contests.
