No cash payments for forms, NPP tells constituency executive aspirants
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned aspirants contesting constituency executive positions not to make cash payments to constituency election committees as nominations opened nationwide on June 22.
Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed said all payments for nomination forms must be made through the party’s designated online portal, stressing that election committees are not authorised to receive cash.
Nominations close on June 24, with vetting scheduled for June 25–27 and appeals from June 28–30. Constituency executive elections will be held on July 11 and 12.
Aspirants are required to obtain forms through constituency offices, comply with all guidelines, secure the necessary endorsements, and meet eligibility requirements under the party’s constitution and electoral regulations.
Positions being contested include Constituency Chairman, First and Second Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer, and Communications Officer.
The elections form part of the NPP’s nationwide reorganisation programme following the completion of polling station and electoral area elections.
